We waited for more than 15 minutes for coffee and when asked, the staff were so rude we left without getting the coffee we paid. Bad personnel management and worst customer service ever experienced. Wanted, 0 not even 1.
I get no pleasure to give a negative rating, but you have to say it as it is. My cappuccino was terrible. It was bitter with a thin frit that more suited to pond sauce. I asked that it is extra hot to compensate for the (mostly) cool cups. Instead of taking the milk up to 67° or 68°C, this felt like a microwave. I can't comment on the food since we had nothing. I just wish people sell any kind of coffee other than being made instantly to do a good Barista course, so they know how to make a decent coffee. Would I have coffee again? Not while water, beer or anything else was to drink in the city.
This was my third visit to the beautiful café located on the main street of George Town. It was a great choice for me and my elderly mother. The café had very easy access, ample space between tables for my mother's walker, and a disabled toilet available. Parents with young children wouldn't have to worry either, as there was also a baby changing table. I ordered a vegetarian tortilla which came as a very generous portion with delicious salsa and sour cream on the side. My mother opted for the full breakfast, which included sausages, eggs, plenty of bacon, toast, and more, all cooked to perfection. The coffee was also very good. The café displayed paintings by local artists and other handmade artifacts on the walls.
Hebe Reef is the top cafe in George Town. I highly recommend visiting here while you are in George Town.
