Contribuiți la feedbackHad a wonderful night out at the cove. Staff were attentive and for a couple of mainland urbanites we found the food very well priced. We went with the game meats and ordered wallaby and venison. The venison has become a fond memory. I was absolutely wowed by the combination of grapes, leaks, potatoes and spring onions. Would travel back to George Town just to eat at the cove!
Perfect. Stayed at the Resort for 2 nights and had the package which included breakfast (which I would recommend) dined here on both nights it was so good. The Pizza was nice and tasty and cooked perfectly, the Steak was one of the best pieces of meat that we have eaten. The Prawn Linguine was so full of flavour. Great selection of local wines. Friday nights 2 for 1 cocktails are great value (recommend the espresso martini) Only fault would be that the desert menu is very disappointing either (thickshake, crepes or frozen yogurt) not really desert options that I would go for.Breakfast is cooked to perfection with a great selection and good value, the vege port side breakfast is highly recommended.Coffee is great and perfect location. Highly Recommend!
Worth the drive. This is the second time that my boyfriend and I have made the trip to the Cove restaurant, and once again it didn’t disappoint. As it was a public holiday the restaurant was quiet with only 3 other tables occupied. We chose a trio of dips, Market fish of the day (salmon) and the oven roasted venison along with a side of roasted herb potatoes.<br/ <br/ Our mains arrived after only a short time but after tasting them I would have waited an hour. The salmon was served with the fluffiest hollandaise sauce and the softest Chervil cheese. The portion was adequate and just melted in the mouth. The oven roasted venison was cooked to perfection and was so tender. The dessert menu is small so we opted for some cocktails in the lounge to finish off.<br/ <br/ Yes the menu is high priced but the quality of the food is exceptional. Although the staff were not all that well presented they were friendly and helpful.<br/ <br/ Definitely will be returning
Have visited this restaurant several time before and have always enjoyed it. But last Sunday was a very unpleasant lunch experience. When our party of 5 arrived there were only two other tables seated but we had to wait 20 minutes to order drinks. We then had to wait for these drinks to be served before we could order our meals. We ordered then were told the meals we wanted were not available so ordered other plates. Four meals arrived but by the time the fifth arrived the others had almost finished even though the fifth meal was the same as one of the four. When our party went to place dessert orders we were told the kitchen was closed. Overall the meals were good but the service was so bad we will not be returning. Luckily the Tamar Valley has quiet a few good restaurants.
Menu very average for a what used to be a great restaurant on the waterfront with good staff and food.Menu handed to us and asked what we wanted, we did not even have time to open the menu at that stage. A bottle of water and 2 glasses were brought to the table, one glass had lipstick marks still on it which we had to point out to the waitress. We then had to wait for about 5 minutes for a clean glass to be brought out for us. We ordered a bottle of wind and our meal, the wine came out unopened and just plonked on the table along with 2 wine glasses. Our meals arrived and we waited for the wine to be served, when we had finished our meal no one came near us again for about 45 minutes then our plates were taken away. the wine was still sitting on our table still unopened and no one even noticed, We sat there after we had finished and discussed wether we should just leave the wine unopened or open it ourselves. We decided to open it and 30 minutes later the waiter came and asked us if we wanted to see the desert menu, we said no as we had waited too long. we paid the account and left.We arrived at 12.15 pm and left at 2.45 p m In that time there were 2 other couples there for a meal so no one could say they were rushed off their feet.
