Tuna Cantina E Pescato - GENOVA

This is such a high quality of restaurant. From wonderful bread basket, to the gratis raw tuna assaggino to the first and second courses, all food is delicious and subtle. I started with the trofie di pesto, green beans and potato and it was beyond perfect. Just the right amount, all homemade and refined. Then came their signature dish of tuna, cooked out the outside but raw inside served room temperature with wonderful asia flavor, sauces and spices. Then I had the mousse with hints of chocolate and cream. Other observations, the soft and beautiful music is vocal jazz from America. This is a subdued restaurant so don't come here if you want allegria with waiters running around, noise from other customers and the clanking of glasses and plates. This is a quiet and casually elegant place. I can handle this kind of restaurant once a week but usually I want more activity and craziness. So if this is quiet date night and you want lovely, clean atmosphere with delicious and refined cuisine and you want quiet conversation, this is the place. BTW, my Mongolian waitress was lovely, helpful and kind. One more point, this meal would be twice the price in most cities outside Italy. For a first course, second, dessert and half bottle wine my dinner was EUR 50. This would easily be EUR 100 in Scottsdale, AZ.

Very nice restaurant with amazing simple design inside , must taste crudo plate , with second I could not say that it is something wow , the tuna was a little overcooked and amberjack very salt. The prices sure not for every one. Crudo plate 60 eur , second dishrag from 20.

We enjoyed an absolutely superb meal on a Friday evening. Food choice is centred around fish and the quality is very good indeed. Sensible pricing and perfect service. A beautifully created restaurant with plenty of warm ambience. Excellent wine list too with very fair pricing. We would return and I have no hesitation n recommending.

We went to the restaurant following the advice of a friend who is a resident in Genoa and weren't disappointed ! The food was delicious, the terrace spacious and comfortable, the staff very friendly. Would strongly recommend!

A bit challenging to find...Very beautiful interior! Very friendly staff. Seasonal fish dishes prepared to absolut perfection. Definitely the best fish in town!
