Contribuiți la feedbackThe place is quite spartan but the choice actually is a lot and all the dishes are plentiful. Personally I went to lunch and I took a panissa and pansotti in walnut sauce: the pansotti was good but unfortunately did not feel much the taste of walnut because everything was overtaken by garlic... I recommend to reduce it Some waiters a little disorganized
Understand the first time for pure case now, while staying out of the area, I willingly arrange for lunch here! All great and with abundant portions with low costs. The owner really friendly! Also bought takeaway! Tiramisù da urlo.
The Death of Sam
Their kitchen is of great level and rigor. Eating from them I could perceive the deepest and most authentic shade of Italian tradition. Mortaio also offers traditional Genoese dishes (or Ligurian dishes that are, but at the moment I have not yet been able to taste them. As soon as I have dinner (or have lunch again from them, I will write you a further review and I will put the local also in the other categories “specifics”. Personally, I consumed the following dishes and was not disappointed: . Spaghetti alla Carbonara; . Tiramisù al Pistacchio. When the spaghetti arrived at Carbonara on my table, my heart filled me with joy and hunger. I have to say that in this place they are just like me: the pasta fall to feeling and not with the balance! The first dishes are plentiful and do not even linse on the dressing. It's been a long time since I couldn't smell and taste so good. Honestly, their “Carbonara” really convinced me. A perfect combination of crispy bacon (they did not make me regret the “Guanciale” , eggs and black pepper. All balanced perfectly and without any excess of sapidity. I must admit that their “Carbonara” was one of the best I ever ate around Italy (and I dare say for the world, but above all “out of my house” (don’t forget that my nickname is just “Er Carbonara”. The “Tiramisù al Pistacchio” was super good and absolutely devoid of technical drooping, those you usually find around the Italian and foreign restaurants (a small engraved: for your homemade tiramisu you never use the “pavesini”, the marsala and do not add the cream ... SIGH SIGH! . The pistachio cream was delicious and creamy at the right point, but above all it was not as heavy as the German Schwerer Gustav cannons (N.d.r. The biggest cannon in the world . Eating at the Pizzeria and Gastronomy Mortaio was a real culinary experience absolutely unforgettable. Belin figgeu, what a beautiful paradise! The wine “of the house” (or bulk was very good. I chose a “Barbera” (if I don’t remember badly and has not disappointed me at all. In case you want to, instead, climb level, then I suggest you buy a bottle any from their wine list, because you will certainly not miss the choice. Prices are absolutely more than honest and popular, especially if you consider the quality of the food you will find in the dishes that will serve you at the table and the wine you will pour in the glass. The service is attentive and I must say that they were hospitable, demonstrating a certain predisposition for the famous “Cura del Client” (or Guest that in Genoa is so much stuff! I must say, honestly, that with me they were very courteous, caring and helpful in guiding me towards the choice of dishes and drinks, satisfying all the demands dictated by my usual indecision and greed. The place is nice, rustic, true and authentic. It is not very wide, but it is not noisy at all. It is well furnished and well lit, as well as very clean. In the warm summer Genoese evenings you will find refreshments in their comfortable Dehor. I remind you that for the full review of this place (including photo gallery, you can visit my website (the address you find in my profile .
Takeaway pizza that never disappoints, a safe use for a dinner at home of substance and quality. In my opinion one of the best pizzerias in San Martino area.
