Retrocucina Trattoria Moderna - Genoa

This is a dining and people watching experience. If my grandmother was Italian and invited every realative for the same meal, this would be the outcome. This is a very local reaturant. The owners will make you feel like your visiting in their home.

Excellent seafood, portions are reasonably sized. The menu changes daily; when we visited it was nearly all shellfish, with two beef tartar-style dishes added for variety. House wine is good. Fun decoration with local art and 1920s music.

From the buttery fresh foccacia, the creamy cod, the tasty papardelle Ragu, the pasta sauce with oysters, the exciting homeade potatoes with pesto and finally those delicacies for desserts, I would have to evaluate this a 5-star restaurant. This is not like a random person who has a 5-star rating, this is my complete honest opinion on this beautiful place. I write this long paragraph because I want to express my joy in food, the courtesy of the staff and the nice songs they play on the mini speaker. I TRULY recommend this restaurant if you want a fine meal for a fabulous price. I recommend

Best pasta I have ever had! The tiramisu was incredible and I will miss this place. The staff were so kind and attentive! 100% recommend and would love to come back!
