Les Dames Barrau - Gennes

Great little restaurant in a lovely old building, sympathetic modern decor in part of what was clearly the old hotel, sadly the weather wasn't great so we couldn't experience the lovely looking terrace. The food was good, well prepared and very good value at 14€ for a three course lunch and the wine prices weren't bad either. The place was busy for a Thursday lunch, but the service was excellent and the staff very friendly. Would certainly go there again if we're in Genne.

We have intended to visit this restaurant for a while, as we often drive past it. We finally did and wished we had done so much sooner. Lovely ambiance, cosy mix of tuffeau and modern colours. Super friendly staff and excellent value for money. Of course we had the full trimmings of 'cocktail ' maison, a Chenin white to accompany a delicious lunch. We cannot wait to be back.

During our holiday near Gennes we visited Les Dames Barrau four times. This is a lovely welcoming bistrot. Great for families with lots of games to keep the children occupied. The young couple running it speak good English and are very friendly. The food is excellent. We were fortunate enough to try their specials night on Easter Sunday, evening tapas and their plat du jour. All of it was excellent. Would definitely recommend and we will be back in October!

Great reception, all staff is pleasant and friendly. The setting is top with its terrace under a huge limestone. The rates are very correct and the menu is excellent. In the same place, an accommodation for a cyclo stop with electric bike charger, inflator, water point, tables under shelter and camping at 100m.

We had lunch for the first time at the Ladies Barrau to celebrate the 20th anniversary of our son and it was a plebiscite! We were 11, 7 to 87, and everyone loved it. The weather was ideal and we were able to enjoy the terrace shaded by a beautiful lime tree. The place is peaceful and charming, the reception is smiling, the service is efficient and attentive, the map is simple, the kitchen is mastered and tasteful. The team, young, benevolent and professional, fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the place. It’s really a very nice address we recommend warmly and we’ll definitely come back!
