Regular meals are priced in mid 20's but economy meal (includes rice) is only 14 CHF. Cheap for Geneva. Wonderfully tasty. Have eaten there three times this week already.
This place was good for me trying to save a few bucks. There are many $14 specials that arrive simple but satisfy. Free 3 Mb Wifi what a bonus! Give it a try when you are on a budget.
Summary:This is a very good Thai restaurant just down the street from the main train station in central Geneva. The food is tasty, the service is quite good and the ambiance is simple but comfortable. The prices are not bad considering the quality of the fare and the fact that it is Switzerland.Details:I was in town for the weekend and was staying at a hotel near the main train station. I wanted a place for dinner to which I could walk. I had thought about Indian cuisine and I quite honestly walked to this area with that in mind. However, the Indian place was quite busy. I had seen Yinde along with the Indian restaurant in my earlier wanderings so my thoughts immediately turned to Thai. The location on a major commercial thoroughfare was definitely a plus for this establishment. The storefront appearance was fine but nothing special. It was not busy when I walked in which made me wonder what I was getting into. However, when I left, I was still puzzled but for different reasons. I could not understand how a place with solid quality offerings could be practically empty for dinner. The interior offered simple but nice decor. The seating capacity was moderate. I was seated quickly by the proprietor, who turned out to be my server. He did a terrific job taking care of me during my visit. The menu offered many Thai favorites. I started with Seafood Tom Yum Soup, which was very good. For my main, I had a curry chicken that was very tasty. For dessert, I finished with the Mango and Sticky Rice, one of my favorites. It was wonderful. I had a coffee that went well with the dessert serving. The prices were not bad but they were definitely on a Swiss scale. I had a Pellegrino to drink to go with what was described above. All inclusive, my bill was 51.50 CHF. With the franc and dollar at virtual parity, the cost was $51.17 USD. This was not cheap but was reasonable by local standards.Overall, this is a good Thai place with a nice array of favorites. The food is quite good, the service is exemplary and the ambiance is relaxed. The prices are not bad by Swiss standards. In general, I would definitely come here again the next time I am in Geneva.
The place is small but cozy, the food is amazing , the coconut chicken soup, the curry and the mango desert with coconut rice will melt your heart, I have to come to Geneva once a year and coming back here for the food has definitely become a small tradition for me and my partner a bit expensive but what can you expect in Geneva :)
