umami by michel roth - Genève

Our son has a sudden enjoyment of fish and sushi so we decided to test this restaurant. I must admit from the outside I don't find the hotel Wilson very attractive but inside the decoration is superb and the terrace by the pol overlooks the...lake and luckily avoids the road noise. Very pleasant welcome from all staff and our 12year old went to watch the chefs prepare the food and they were very patient and kind. We chose one menu of the day and a choice of several dishes to share. Lots of lovely savours and every dish was very tasty. Plenty of fish but also meat and fois gras and extremely well presented. Staff very kind and helpful with recommendations. We were presented with an extra dish from the chef which was excellent with shrimp and spicey sauce. Desserts were also tasty, see the photos below. Wine was good and I even tasted a red wine from Cologny the other side of the lake which was excellent. Very good meal and welcoming atmosphere will ensure we return maybe try the brunch with autumn coming.

From the first site it was a strange place: by the pool of the hotel. But believe me, dishies were unbelievable. Even grilled vegetables with sous, were wonderful. New interpretation of Japanese cuisine, bravo Will be there again ASAP

Food was very good but the location was excellent. We got the crispy shrimp rolls which were delicious and an assortment of sashimi and maki. I was impressed with the wonderful service. Can't always say that in Switzerland!

Nous avons dîné à Umami à l'occasion d'un anniversaire. La terrasse est très agréable et donne sur le lac.Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la qualité des mets servis et avons été dépaysés par ces saveurs originales. François-Xavier et son équipe ont été très professionnels et souriants pendant la soirée. Le chef Franck Meyer est même venu à notre table nous saluer. Sa cuisine vous emportera et vous fera voyager le temps d'un repas.Nous recommandons ce restaurant sans hésitation!

Excellent restaurant japonais à Genève l'Umami sur la magnifique terrasse de l'hôtel Président Wilson à Genève au bord de la magnifique piscine de l'hôtel. Cadre enchanteur, mets excellents, personnel au top, prix en rapport pour ce restaurant haut de gamme. Je recommande vivement. Samuel Copt
