Contribuiți la feedback...at least in Geisenheim and other surroundings. Return from the Swabian villagers to Münsterland. Around noon at the A5 near Heidelberg, a discussion about a return to lunch is taking place. Who's open on Monday? In the Rheingau we knew a few restaurants with 7-day opening hours. Kloster Eberbach or Schloss Johannisberg? Schnick, Schnack, Schnuck... from to Johannisberg. Just after 13 o'clock we were in front of the castle, little cars there. Great, that read hope for a place in the restaurant, because on other days of the week it is difficult to get a table spontaneously. Passing the Vinothek of Schloss Johannisberg (and GH Mumm is one of the most beautiful views in the Rheingau. From Johannisberger Buckel the view goes down to the Rhine. Then we stood outside. The restaurant area has not been renovated long ago and the furnishings are bright and modern. The most beautiful place in the very comfortable guest room is the conservatory, which lies almost over the Johannisberger vineyards overlooking the Rhine. If you get a table right at the window front, we were lucky, it was quite little off because of carnival, there are beautiful views to the Rhine. The service brought us the cards, two sides with appetizers, desserts and main dishes. That's quite tempting. A quarter of wine, we were at the headquarters of the Schloss Johannisberger Weingut, that is our favorite drop of this winery, the yellow lacquer, that is the local wine quality of the VDP winery. The colours of the capsule characterize the quality of the wines, more closely on the HP. With the fine drop in the glass we waited for our order. We had chosen both first and second courses from the appetizers offered. The service asked if we wanted to get a selection of bread, which we affirmed, so we were served bread and butter before the first walk. That was quite extensive for a kitchen greeting, and that was not the case, we had to surprise 3,20 EUR for it when paying the bill. But well, the bread came from the local baker, and the French butter (demi sel was delicious too. Just like the ham and the grievous malt with apple pieces. Then came our appetizer For us both apple-sellerie sweets with blood orange foam. Much potatoes were of course also in the soup that was not too tasteful. Nevertheless, the combination of potato, celery with apple worked very well. And very good was the quite acidic foam that brought light fruit acid into play. Fitted well to the right-handed soup, good standing. At the main courses chosen from the appetizer card we went separate ways, for my wife's home-grown salmon with citrus fruits, avocado and vanillavinaigrette. Visually tempting what was presented on the plate. Finely pickled salmon on a bed of orange slices, with avocado cream. With the Vinaigrette, according to my wife, very good. She was very happy with her choice. My choice was marinated calfstop with green sauce and roast potatoes. This is offered here as an appetizer? Okay, but it looked delicious. Tenderless delicate table lace cut into pleasantly thin slices, marinated in a slightly sweet-sauren Vinaigrette. The green sauce was very light (sauer cream? and tasted crimsonously fresh and was a pleasure to the roast potatoes. We didn't want dessert, but for both still a good espresso with a delicious piece of cheesecake on a chocolate floor to finish. The service did his job professionally friendly, we had no complaint. Conclusion of the short lunch. Here you can come in at any time of day, every day of the week, and if you get a place you won't regret it. The Schlossschänke is at the highest level in the Rhinegau, but you must accept that. The food tastes, the Johannisberger wines are delicious (and unfortunately also quite high-priced, 9 EUR quarters . A few bottles of yellow lacquer still fit into the trunk filled with good peels and then the B42 went towards Koblenz, Rheinromantik enjoy!
