Everything was out in such a timely manner, drinks never emptied and she checked on us frequently. The cheese dip is the bomb. Our daughter even spilled her drink and it didn’t phase them, they were so nice about it. We live an hour away and will definitely make the commute to avoid the other Mexican places we’ve ate at. This is definitely the closest thing you can get to authentic besides going to grandmas house or to Mexico!!!!!!!! Outstanding!!!!
Great food! This is a very family oriented restaurant. I got the feeling there might be only one cook, so come prepared to relax and enjoy the fantastic chips and salsa. The salsa is fantastic. Your food will take a few minutes longer than the average Mexican restaurant, but it’s worth the wait. Hand made corn tortillas, fresh vegetables, high quality meats and lovingly prepared main and sides that are spiced and cooked to perfection. I have eaten many meals in Mexico and the SouthWestern US, and this is very authentic. Honestly it’s the best Mexican I’ve had North of Texas. The people are very nice. Go have a meal here, and as long as you aren’t in a big rush I guarantee you won’t regret it.
Being vegan was easy here. They have real fake Mexican menu. On the fake one, they have a few vegetarian items that easily convert to vegan. What we had was delicious. Very authentic for fake Mexican. I can only imagine how good the real Mexican is! A nice touch with my tacos there was a charred jalapeno and fat green onion yum. Everyone was nice, and the a/c works almost too well. Yes, we 'll go back!
They have some great food in here . Tatiana our server was great, she recommended us some menu items that were great . They have real Mexican food and a part of the menu is called “fake Mexican food” that refers to what often people mistake as Mexican food when it’s just Tex-Mex .
I have eaten here at Agave three times. The weight staff were always cheerful, helpful, and simply delightful. The food was good and hence I returned. The ISSUE I had was my last visit.. I hate cilantro. May as well eat a bar of Irish Spring soap. I ordered the Texan Burrito and I was clear that I could not eat anything that had it as an ingredient. (If it is even on the same table with my food, I will taste it somehow). The food came out and after two bites I hit the cilantro. Now what you need to understand is I wasn’t hungry. I was RAVENOUS. My companion’s food has come well in advance of mine and it seems that everybody else in the restaurant has gotten their food. By the time my food came I was beside myself with hunger. When I got that bite of cilantro, I was so sad because I knew I couldn’t eat it. I told the waitress that there was cilantro in my food, she apologized, and took it away, promising to come back with one that did not have cilantro. Instead of food coming out, the owner/cook? came out and challenged me stating I was wrong and that my good did NOT have cilantro. This infuriated him. He insisted that there was no cilantro in it. I insisted that there was cilantro in it. There was no percentage in me lying. I had only taken 2 bites. Nonetheless he adamantly insisted that there was no cilantro in my food. I asked him if he thought I was lying. His response was “there was no cilantro”. One of us was wrong and neither of us were budging from our staked positions. In frustration and because it was becoming a spectacle, I told him to just leave it, that I would pay for it, and would never come back. He took the food away. I knew he was not done with me and I told my friend that I would bet her five dollars that he was going to come out with the burrito cut wide open for inspection. Instead, the man came out with a bowl of lettuce and challenged me to find cilantro in it. By this time everyone in the restaurant stopped eating to watch. I did not answer him nor did I search through his lettuce. I let my friend finish her meal and we left. I will NEVER EVER EVER go back. Not because of the cilantro but the response.
