Cafe Resto Le Baleinier - Gaspé

A bit pricey for diner/fast food style meals (but with seafood), but the food was quite tasty and fresh.

We were here for a quick lunch during our visit to Forillon national park. Extensive menu for any taste, simple well prepared food, friendly quick service. Definitely would recommend

I went with the smoked salmon. Always a safe bet and generally very good in the Gaspe. I was not at all disapointed. We also had the chocolate cake which was to die for, and very well represented in the photo. Very few people in...the place, but it is September.

We went there for dinner by as a group of photographers after our walk at the Forillon National park. The cod fish which was their chef's recommendation was excellent. It came with a soup. The fish was ct fresh and sauce which came with it...was creamy. My friends ordered the poutine and salad and found it very good. Service was fast and responsive. For desert we had their chocolate cake. Out of the world.

Mmm. Such good food. We were in the area for days. Went here on our first night and went back nights later because it was so good. Granted there aren't tons of restaurants in the area, but the seafood was exceptional. It's not...huge, maybe or tables. We didn't have to wait either night we went. The staff don't speak a ton of English but we could certainly order very easily and communicate with our high school French. I'd highly recommend the haddock. Wow was that good. Cod was also tasty as was the seafood casserole thing can't remember the name but it had mashed potatoes on it. So tasty.
