Bridge Boy Drive-in Dairy - Garrison

This charming little dairy bar is a convenient stop off the AA Highway in Kentucky. You'll need to keep an eye out for it, as there are no signs directing you from the interstate. Parking can be somewhat limited, especially on nights when local sporting events are happening, but we visited in early October, during the week before the establishment closed for the winter, so parking was not a problem for us. Upon entering, we were welcomed by a nostalgic atmosphere infused with local flavor. The walls were decorated with photographs of former prom queens, athletes, car shows, and vintage automobile-themed signs. Even the serving counter resembled a classic car! There was a good mix of tables and booths available, and the dining area was divided into two spaces, allowing for a small private party if desired. The entire dining area was impeccably clean, and thankfully, we did not encounter any staff cleaning while we were eating. The restrooms were spotless as well, indicating that the owner has a keen understanding of the importance of cleanliness in a restaurant setting. As for the food, it was standard American burger fare. The 8 oz beef burger was neither greasy nor dry, cooked to a perfect medium-well, and tasted freshly made rather than pre-packaged, which is a common issue with larger suppliers like Sysco. The fries were crisp and on the larger side, though they weren't quite home fries. My partner ordered a foot-long Coney hot dog and was pleasantly surprised, finding it far better than a popular hot dog stand across the river. The sauce was sweet with a ketchup base, and the onions were mild, not overpowering. The service was average, typical of what you would expect at a dairy bar. However, the standout aspects of our visit were the quality of the food, the cleanliness of the location, and the reasonable prices (see photos). If your travels take you along the AA Highway in northeastern Kentucky during the summer, I highly recommend taking a break to enjoy a quality burger at this spot.
