Fisherman's Korner - Garibaldi

My wife, a friend and I were in Garibaldi. This place was open for lunch. The restaurant was fairly funky inside, albeit clean. The restaurant had a mixture of tables, booths and a long counter with backless stools. We chose a booth. The efficient waitress immediately showed up and we ordered. We had a shrimp salad, a burger, and a clam strip basket. According to my informants, the shrimp salad was very flavorful and the burger was the best tasting they had had in years. My clam strips had excellent flavor, however, about 40% were tough and hard to bite through while 60% were tender. The basket came with the best French Fries I've had in 2023 very crispy on the outside, hot and soft on the inside. The basket came with an acceptable tartar sauce and some creamy coleslaw. The total bill was $47 and change. Even with a 20% tip, that came out to less than 20 dollars per person, which is normal in these post covid times. Based on our experience I can totally recommend this place.

There were 8 of us and the restaurant was quite busy, but they seated us promptly and the service was fast. The staff worked well together and served us delicious food. We ordered Halibut, prawns, and chowder, while the two non-fish eaters enjoyed some tasty burgers. It was definitely a fantastic dining experience. The halibut was the best we've ever had! The fish and chips at this restaurant are excellent - fresh and delicious. We sampled both the halibut and cod, both of which were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of breading. The fries were also tasty, not greasy or burned. The service was fast, the bathrooms were clean, and the outside seating was comfortable. Overall, a great spot for a meal.
