Sophies Choice Pierogi

Sophie’s is absolutely amazing! Their pierogi are the best around. Be sure to check out their seasonal dishes, too. During my last visit, I tried the potato and spinach pierogi, and they were outstanding!

This restaurant is takeout only! As soon as you walk in, you’ll feel as if you’ve entered a Polish grocery store from the 1940s. There’s a delightful little lunch counter nestled in the far corner. Although the lines to place an order can take a few minutes, the food is generally served quickly, usually within 5 to 10 minutes. The pierogis are exceptional! We sampled the potato, cheese, and sauerkraut varieties. The potato pancakes are large and thick, and they taste wonderful as well. However, the fish was a bit disappointing, though still passable.

On a brighter note, the location itself is quite charming, which is one redeeming quality.

The pierogi at this place are incredible! I especially loved the potato filling, which I found to be better than the sauerkraut. They sell cooked pierogi on Fridays, but the refrigerated ones taste just as fresh. They're fully cooked and very easy to prepare. I did think the sauerkraut filling was a little too sour for my liking. If it weren't for that, I would have given them a perfect 5 stars!

The prices for the freshly cut meats are fantastic, and the service is top-notch. I will certainly be back. The sausage is exceptional, particularly the smoked kielbasa!
