Pro tipp: if you want to eat the cat at the restaurant at all, call it at least 30 minutes before visiting the restaurant! it takes a little longer to prepare because they try to prepare it for them. you don't have to wait so long. also, they simply know that they are not limited to ordering the 7 curs beef for each person. in my experience the order of a big cat and 2 of the 7 bark courses is enough for all of us. this works even better for those who bring them to try the Vietnamese style 7 courses of bark. then, if they feel like they need extra meat, then they can order a la carte. what we have: a large wels: for an LARGE cat it was kind of medium? 100 understand that they are likely to be the inflation bill. but the size of the fish has left me. but the aromes are there and loved that it came to sit very quickly. 7 courses of bark meat: honestly, everything was wonderfully flavored. the various sauces they offer, give this authentic feeling too. Just remember, they no longer contain the vermicelli nudges, so they need to order the extra. my favorite would be the grilled bark with the lemongrass. my complaining was that they brought out the last curs the suppe, way too late. as in, we had to remind them at least twice to bring out the last cursor. until then we were so stuffed, I felt like it almost disappeared. my family and I have been here for years, even before the remodeling. I love that they have modernized it so that it can be easier for others to approach this new style of Vietnamese cuisine.
We grew up with Vietnamese friends and got exposed to a lot of interesting food and snacks. For some reason it was within the last decade they showed us the wonder of Bo 7 Mon. It literally means 7 courses of Beef and if you are a fan of SE Asian flavors and meat this is the one to try. The later courses are better so don't get too full in the beginning. 1: Beef and Shrimp Salad, cold dish with lots of greens. 2: Beef tenderloin Hotpot, you cook it yourself. They'll bring you a small pot of broth heated by a tiny portable flame. 3: Beef marinated with lemongrass, you grill it yourself. 4 5: Charbroiled ground beef sausage and wrapped in betel leaf. Everyone's favorite...super tasty 6: Steamed beef patty, like the inside of a pate chaud but with beef. 7: Beef and alphabet soup The reason my friends like this restaurant is one of the courses comes on a mini grill which not a lot of competition does and they serve an iconic beef alphabet soup as the last course. Their baked whole catfish is almost a must order. The skin is so crispy you can crack it with the back of a spoon and it has almost a lays potato chip consistency, catfish was nice and moist.
I ordered my food on the phone and i drove from the other side of town, they havent got my food ready and i have to wait another 20m. When she asked me which sauce i want, i asked her if i can have both, she said that its because i only buy 1 portion so i can only have 1 sauce, I was wondering a big restaurant like that can be so cheap about the sauce? While i was waitting, there was this customer he was checked out, on his bill, THEY TAX ON TIPS and when that customer confronted her, the boss all pretend to freaks out and call someone and said that the calculate machine programed like that. All the services share the same attitude , extremely cheap, ungreatlful, and bad customer services. DO NOT EAT HERE EVER I really want to give them 0 Star but that wasnt an option
Alway happy eating here; my fav beef 7 courses. They let me switch the boil beef ball with 1 grill la lot. I never like the boil beef ball. Very consisten; I drink the dipping sauce. That how much I love their sauce with peanut, pickle lemon grass, and chili. I come here at least one a month. It's the sauce!!! !!!
