Bobapop Tea - Garden Grove

The staff was extremely rude. A girl and a boy working there pointed at me and demanded to know the size of the boba I ordered without even bothering to excuse themselves. Even after I told him twice, he kept asking about the boba size, sugar level, and toppings over and over. It was hard to understand what they were saying, making the entire experience very confusing for me.

We may have visited on a less than ideal day (Saturday, April 15th) as our drinks did not meet the high expectations set by their reviews. I ordered my usual jasmine green milk tea with 25-30% sugar and boba, but it tasted overwhelmingly sweet, like it had nearly 100% sugar. The tea flavor was barely noticeable; it was excessively milky and had a powdery aftertaste. The classic house drink was of similar quality. The boba was chewy but felt undercooked in the middle. I really wanted to enjoy it, but I could only take a few sips before I had to throw the rest away. Unfortunately, this experience warrants just 1 star. On a brighter note, the passion fruit drink with boba was decent—nothing special, so I’d rate it 3 stars.

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating. They took the time to answer all my questions and tailored my order to my preferences. In comparison to other boba shops in Garden Grove, I found their tea to have a much better flavor. I particularly enjoyed the delightful aroma of their milk tea, which had a delightful floral hint. I’m looking forward to returning and sampling more items from their menu.

This branch has expanded into neighboring Asian countries, and I have to say I really enjoy it in my home country. Now that I’ve found out there’s a location here in the US, I had to give it a try, and the drink tasted just as I remembered. The shop has a somewhat empty atmosphere since it's a new boba branch located in a somewhat secluded area, but it's definitely worth a visit (plus, you get the perk of little to no wait). My favorite drink is the taro boba milk tea (I know it’s a classic, but it’s delicious).

The boba here is just average—nothing remarkable. If you find yourself in the area and have a craving for boba, feel free to stop by and give it a try. However, I wouldn’t recommend making a special trip just for it.
