The Wheel & Anchor - Gananoque

My friends and I went to the restaurant for dinner on August 11 and had a great experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Lovely patio to enjoy a wonderful selection of food. Appetizers and mains reasonably priced, I had the lasagna and shared a calamari, decent sized portions and came out piping hot. Only downfall was this location not open for dinner before 4:30 pm and closed by 9pm. In all fairness my schedule was a bit hectic. Enjoyed my time here, staff pleasant and helpful. Would recommend Wheel and Anchor as a good place to eat.

We called here to eat as our second choice but we were not disappointed in any way. The service was really good and the restaurant clean and bright. I had fish and chips and my wife had the prime rib both of which were cooked to our liking and the portions were more than adequate. All in all this proved a very good alternative to our original plans and we will eat here again. The menu was extensive enough to satisfy most dietary preferences and the prices were reasonable.

The only issue we encountered was when we ordered pasta for our son and requested marinara sauce to be added (as it apparently didn't come with it). Unfortunately, they added way too much sauce, making it resemble more of a bowl of soup with pasta in it. Overall, I would consider returning to this restaurant if I were in the area again.

I had an excellent meal here, ordered fish and chips and received a quite enormous portion of fish The service was good despite the minor oversight of bringing me a teaspoon for my soup. Recommended.
