Contribuiți la feedbackI absolutely adore our local farm market! On Thursdays, I get my favorite kombucha blend made by Caitlin from 3rd Coast Kombucha. And on Sundays, I get to sample new things like salsa, bread, jellies, jams, pickles, and spicy habaneros - all of which are delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic too! If you haven't checked out the market yet, what are you waiting for?
I love visiting our local Farmer's Market! On Thursdays, I can pick up my favorite kombucha blend from Caitlin at 3rd Coast Kombucha, and on Sundays I can explore new offerings like salsa, breads, jellies, jams, pickled beets, and habanero pickles. Everything is delicious and the atmosphere is amazing! If you haven't been to the GOFM yet, what are you waiting for? It's a great place with great people and delicious food!
The Galveston Farmers Market has a strong sense of community. It opens early on Sundays, but it's best to arrive within the first hour or two to find a good selection of produce. Unfortunately, after that, the selection can be lacking. Many stalls at the market don't sell produce, offering plants, popsicles, and other items instead. Coming from California, where farmers markets are large and fantastic, this market doesn't quite measure up. There is a notable absence of fruit stalls, as most vendors only sell vegetables. The prices are also quite high, which is a deterrent for regular visits. Despite this, the quality of the items sold is good, and you'll enjoy mingling with the market attendees. However, there are areas for improvement that would make it a more appealing destination.
The Galveston Farmers Market has a strong community presence. They open early on Sundays and it's recommended to arrive within the first hour or two to get the best selection of products. After that, choices are limited. While I appreciate the market, I am not a huge fan because only half of the stands sell produce. Instead, they offer items like plants and popsicles. Coming from California where we have large and amazing farmers markets, this one does not compare. One major drawback is the lack of variety in fruits and the high prices. The quality of the products is good and it's nice to interact with the vendors, but there are definitely areas for improvement to make it a more appealing destination for me.
