Cressier itself is nothing to write home, but the village houses la croix blanche a beautiful restaurant that I discovered three years ago. I was glad to see that it is still part of the Swiss guide “’Gilde Gourmet’’. A directory of traditional restaurants with nice dining and pleasant atmosphere. I sat in ‘’salle Bacchus’ a small dining room with a cozy and intimate atmosphere. as other critics noticed, the Portuguese tenants may not be the most influential people. yet they offer a courtesy and efficient service. the menu places the focus on regional specialities and local suppliers. as a starter I had the 12 months old pata negra healed: I love this one who has a pronounced taste and melts in mouth. as a main course I chose one of the home specialties: kalbssalzimbocca with safran risotto. tasting and generous. as sweet, I pampered with a tasteful and refreshing skyberry sorrow with schnapps. on the lower side, the Swiss always had a very high price structure, even on the land, and la croix blanche is not an exception. the calculation did not amount to the budget of all.
The establishment which is in the gourmet passport, without any mention, does not accept gourmet passports from Thursday to Sunday during hunting time!!! I have never been there and so I never will because hunting is its specialty. Damage!
Too bad… we had reserved the table by phone but when we arrived there was nothing to reserve… We left very disappointed! But happy with our menu elsewhere!
Sehr herzlicher Empfang.
