The Country Kitchen - GALENA

From the outside it really looks like a hole in the wall, but it is surprisingly nice country kitchen restaurant inside. Staff is super pleasant, and the food, while simple (dinners are all specials) is surprisingly good. A wonderful gem located in a very rural area but the food is terrific and creative. My wife and I have visited several times and have always been very happy with the service and the high quality meals that we've enjoyed there. It's very small so it's not always easy to get a seat but it is worth the wait. If you're nearby and call ahead, they will hold a table (if available) for a short period. You'll really enjoy the Country Kitchen. We highly recommend it!

Best crab cakes. Best cream of crab soup. Scalloped potatoes for breakfast. Actually very happy that they only do breakfast one day a week...I would have to be there every day otherwise...too good to miss :

Comfort food with a country feel. 5 stars for this category. We'll go back for sure in fact, I wish we had found this place sooner. Crab dip was incredible. Caesar salads were top notch with a great presentation. Chicken and dumplings were just like Mom's. Rib Eye was just right. Kids menu will keep kids happy. Specials and beer and wine available surprised us for such a small place. Looking forward to another visit. Don't go if in a hurry that's not what this place is for, everything is home made. Enjoy the company you came with and being in a small town. I could see the owners really care about their business and the food might be struggling a touch with waitstaff, but nothing that can't be overcome with quality food and a smile. Not pretty but rather charmingly cute and I always like to see what's going on in an open kitchen.
