The Melting Pot - Gaithersburg

We love the melting pot but this time we were not impressed! The cheese was made way too runny (too much liquid) had to get up and look around for the waitress to be able to get more cheese to make it of the normal consistency. Took over 20 minutes to get her to come back and make it better. We asked for more dippers and that also took a while. The salads came out and took a while to get the bouillon to get our meals going. After that the experience was much better but the experience didn't start as always. I also noticed that the cheese was made very differently than normally.

The Melting Pot is a special occasion or date night venue. The cost is what I would expect because fondue isn't common around my area. The food was terrific as always and our server, Grayson, was fantastic. There was never a question he couldn't answer and he went out of his way to accommodate my 7 year old daughter wanting to sample the beverage options before deciding on something. My family loves this restaurant. The charcuterie board is the perfect add-on for when you run out of bread/vegetables during the early cheese fondue course, because you can always dip the meats in a pinch. The check came with a single flower for Mother's Day, which made my daughter even happier than my wife. It was another great experience had by all.

Unique experience for a special occasion. Vegetarian options: There is a veggie option. But if you're dining with people who aren't veg, realize you'll be sharing a single fondue pot.

I’ve been here quite a few times. It’s mine and my partners “go to” anniversary restaurant. Today we came in and Lenox was our server. Not only was the food great (as always) but Lenox was so sweet and funny and exuberant. If he decides to stop serving someday, he for sure could have a career in stand up.

Me and my husband go every year for Valentine's Day for the last 7 years. This year they only used a strict menu. I was very unhappy that I booked my table BEFORE I got an email stating that's what they were doing. We have always been given the option to follow the main menu or chose something off the select Valentine's menu. There was also an advertisement on the table for a special that was $52/person and stated it was available all days on February which it was not. The 10th isn't even the week of Valentine's Day, we live 2 hours away and wanted to be able to chose from the menu. We had a reservation and didn't get sat til 15 minutes after our allowed time where we only were given 2 hours to have our meal. Our service was slow and we received everything late when asked. While we were not asked to leave, we were given our check before we even were finished our dessert. We have always chosen this location, but I was very unhappy with our visit. The staff that were waiting to seat people seemed very unorganized and were not apologetic of the late seating. While I understood it's a busy time, that doesn't mean to treat your customers that their time is not important.
