Hot Pot Hero - Gaithersburg

While house sitting formy brother and sister-in-law in September through November, I discovered Hot Pot Hero (and I love hot pots). The restaurant is clean and d organized. They offer individual pots or share a large pot which can be divided into two for two different types of broth. The service is amazing. They are attentive, friendly, and helpful. The hot pot itself is delicious. They have a wide selection of broth to choose. Be careful with the spicy broth, it may be too spicy to handle for non-Asian diners. The lunch menu is different from the dinner menu. Obviously, the dinner menu has more selections. However, if you go for lunch, you will not be disappointed. You will have plenty to choose and plenty to eat. Highly recommend Hot Pot Hero either for lunch or dinner. Either a cold or hit day. Hot Pot is good all the time. Enjoy!

Hot Pot Hero is undeniably one of the best hotpot restaurants in the area and I say this as an avid lover of hotpot (growing up). The quality of food is fresh, everything from vegetable, meats to seafood shows their dedication to quality. As for dessert, they have ice jelly, a Chinese dessert staple. Staff are friendly and attentive to helping customer refill broth and dishes. Sauce and dessert bar are kept clean all the time, and I can't point out any areas for improvement in terms of ambiance. Hotpot hero is also connected to Bengong's Tea, and you get to enjoy boba with hotpot. Highly recommended to give it a try!

The ambiance and décor of the restaurant were quite nice—very vibrant and red, creating a lively atmosphere. However, I did have a concerning experience with one of the servers. While they were engaging in conversation with me, they sneaked in a 20% tip on my bill without my consent when processing the payment. I didn’t notice until I checked my emailed receipt later. It was an oversight on my part, but I advise others to stay vigilant and ensure you check before confirming payment. Overall, a pleasant experience, but be cautious!

We've tried both places: this one and the one in Elliott City. They are both good but we like this one better. LOTS of variety and the ingredients are fresh. They can accommodate large parties. Across from the restaurant is a neat outdoor area that has live music from time to time. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
