Wolf Den Family - Gainesville

We wanted home cooking, and we go it at Wolf Den Family Restaurant. The service was great, and the food was excellent. The chicken fried steak with white gravy was so delicious!

So the reason for the 4 stars is because of how long I had to wait for 10 pieces of cornbread I ordered to go. I waited almost an hour for it. I've eaten here before and ordered a catfish dinner, with mashed potatoes, black-eye peas and cornbread. The cornbread and black-eye peas has me hooked! They were so good! Wasn't a fan of the catfish as I was expecting fillet type fried catfish and not chicken tender type fried catfish. They were really small. The mashed potatoes were also bland to the taste and I was not told they come with white gravy. I do not eat white gravy on my mashed potatoes, only brown and it was quickly replaced. Except for these, overall the rest of the food was really good. The waitress was excellent and was very attentive to me. She even complimented my hair and outfit and this really made my day. I didn't get her name and I wish I had done so. She was really sweet. Would highly recommend eating at this place! I'd call ahead for the cornbread if just ordering cornbread, though !

Solid menu at good prices with lots to eat. The fajita salad was very tasty and filling. Service was great
