La Tienda Latina - Gainesville

This place is always a great experience. The price for the food for the portion you get is fantastic and the quality is not only consistent but it is consistently great! I have never had a bad dish or experience here. Be it eat in or take home. A cute little bonus is the back grocery store they have. They are also super realistic about wait time/pick up time. Obviously because this is a gem lunch hour is always swamped but everything is still put out in great timing. I have never waited more than 20 minutes for food even when packed. My family and I have been going to this place since we moved 7 years ago. Do yourself a favor and eat here, and definitely work your way across the menu you wont be disappointed.

The Birria Tacos are amazing. Crunchy tortilla. The cheese is nice and creamy and the sauce has all the right flavors

I was pretty impressed at my first visit. The tacos were amazing with well seasoned and generous protein portion. Cooked onions was a plus. The hype was real. But then there was >1 hour wait when I went back the second time so I decided to take out from somewhere else. At my most recent visit, the wait time was about 30-40 minutes but the tacos were not the same as before. The meat was cooked too long, burnt, so it had no flavor. Scant raw onions and cilantro. The horchata was ok. My dad?s quesadilla was nothing special and bland. He purchased an instant coffee from their grocery which was overpriced. I left feeling ripped off: $20 for 3 tacos and a horchata. Small narrow parking lot in the back. Customer service is ok. I?m not sure if I?ll be back.

The Cactus Chimichanga is delicious and unique! I haven?t seen cactus food at any other Mexican restaurant so I love coming here for it. Ask for the red and green sauce, they keep it behind the counter nowa days and it?s really good.

La Tienda has a great authentic cuisine with many menu options. I?ve tried their burritos, fajitas, and tacos and have been throughly impressed. I highly recommend their Birria Tacos!
