Restaurang Soders Kalla - Gaevle

After reading the reviews I had high expectations, but it did not really live up to the hype. It is fine, but almost pretend to be a much finer dining that it is. It was a god try to use local ingredients that almost hits the mark. The fried potatoes and bread is great. It could have potential. The service we got pulled down a little the grade.

Great quality seasonal ingredients, presented with care for every detail. Very friendly and helpfull staff, waitresses there are professional. Cosy local with well-adjusted lighting and music which does not distract you.

This is one local favourite and I have been visiting the place numerous times. Söders Källa combines a nice view of the neaby square through the big windows with gentle service and exquisite food. This Thursday evening I went here with my colleagues in the company internal auditing team for our annual dinner a company of 13 persons. For a starter I choose the Cauliflower and the Kalix white fish roe, jummy! To drink a local stout from Hopsie Daisy. I think that stout is highly underestimated to roe or shellfish. As always we received a good presentation of every course to be served! Hasselback potatoe and beef of fillet become my main course, perfect texture and degreee of roasting together with and emulsion of Rosemary accompanied by a Portuguese wine, Herdado Frexio, a blend of Cabernet Sauvigonon an Touriga National, really tasty! A perfect Creme Brulée ended this dinner. I think we all agree on good value for money and a revisit!

This was amazing! Fresh, local produce, ecological and all beautifully presented well tasting dishes. I had the fillet of beef with fresh vegetables and super tasty desert with herb sorbet

About a 10 minute walk from center of town. Excellent food but portions were not enough to fill me up.
