That said, when you have a side of baked beans, it might overwhelm your taste buds if you constantly mix things together. So, it's probably best to enjoy the coleslaw separately rather than putting it on the roll. Overall, the food is appetizing, and it feels like a privilege to dine at this restaurant.

The good: They offer great prices, fantastic ribs, delicious cream corn, and truly amazing collard greens. The cornbread tastes just like what Mama used to make—none of that overly sweet cornbread nonsense here, it’s real cornbread! The meh: The potato salad is average; I could take it or leave it. The smoked chicken sandwich is decent, but nothing to write home about. The BBQ sauce is a brownish color and seems to be ketchup-based, which is pretty standard. The bad: While they specialize in takeout, the dining area is somewhat small and could use some improvement.

A coworker and I stopped by Merrill on our way to a job and ordered the black plate. The tangy sauce perfectly complemented the pork, which was incredibly tender and excellently prepared. It was a fantastic meal, and if I’m ever in the area again, I’ll definitely return!

The food was great and the staff was so friendly. one of the best prizes I've seen for a long time. we had bbq ribs, pork sandwich and hamburger. the sides were great.

Pork plate was great. Very happy w the potato salad, pork and cole slaw but the baked beans was unbelievable, i could eat them by the pan.
