O Boguinhas - Fundão

We ate the grilled ribs and they were wonderful. Small and cozy spot with a nice comfort food. It won’t get better than this!

Driving cross country back to Lisbon, checked where on the map we'd be about lunch time and then on Trip Advisor for a good place to partake. Led us here and we were glad. Nice little grill restaurant. Town was having a cherry festival so I ordered the special cherry menu. Starter was tempera vegetables with a cherry dressing to dip them in. Veggies were not hot, as if they'd been sitting out a while before being delivered. But they tasted great and the cherry dressing was terrific. Next up was the veal steak in cherry sauce. Sauce was a tad sweet, but still it worked and was quite good. Veal was cooked perfectly. Came with sweet potato fries and rice. Followed with Cherry biscuit cake Bolo Balacha . Also good, but not my favorite variation of this dessert. My wife ordered a mixed salad and the mixed meats on a skewer. Salad was fine, though we've had better tomatoes in Portugal. The skewer came with grilled pork, beef and chorizo. The pork was quite good. Moist and tender. The beef was tougher and dry. The chorizo was just fine. She's not a chorizo fan, but I am! Served with regular fries. The bread before the meal came with homemade tuna salad in addition to butter . This was quite good. Lots of flavors. Reminded me of my mom's tuna sandwiches that she would make me as a kid. Wine list was small but workable. Service was with a big friendly smile and quite attentive. All-in-all, this is a great place to eat if you are passing through and want something authentic. We were the only tourists in the place. For that matter, I doubt there are many tourists in this town, it seems like a real working town for the citizenry.
