Pizzaria Luigi - Funchal

Staying in the MIramar for a week with family including a 4 and 7month old we ate here on our first and last nights as it was integral to the hotel. The staff are lovely and genuinely welcoming and accommodating with young children. You might feel a little intimidated by some of the older diners who will look at you as you enter and you wonder if they are thinking there goes my peaceful dinner! . However, don 't be put off as the staff quickly put you at ease and our 4 year old was invited up into the kitchen area to help the chef spin his pizza dough. It made his evening and he 's still talking about it. A word of caution if, like us, our appetites are not what they used to be. The pizzas are large so you might want to share one especially if you have a starter. Good value and the house wine is good and not over the top.

Went here on our first night as it was near where we were staying. We all enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly. Not fine dining so it didn't break the bank.

Luigi's is part of the Pestana Mirama hotel although it is outside the grounds on the main road. Good food served by pleasant staff.

This is a smallish pizzeria owned by the Pestana Group who run a number of hotels on Madeira. However the food is not 'hotel-type ' food. There is a good range of Italian dishes and Pizzas. They do a very nice lasagne. The staff were extremely pleasant.

Four of us went there for a quick pizza meal. It was fairly full. Three couples came in after us. All had two courses. Our order was eventually taken. By the time we received our order and finished our meal, the restaurant was completely empty. Terrible service but at least the food was good.
