My husband and I have been to Galliano in Maple Lawn numerous times and have enjoyed our previous meals. Unfortunately, our last visit did not live up to our expectations. We ordered the calamari appetizer soon after we arrived for our 5:30 reservation the calamari arrived quickly and we were impressed with the portion size. We ordered our entrees a few minutes after ordering our appetizer. My husband ordered the salsiccia rapini and I ordered the eggplant balls with the rosemary potatoes as my entree. We waited for about 20 minutes until our server came to tell us that there was a mixup in the kitchen with my order and that our dinners would come shortly. After another 10 minutes, we asked to speak to a manager but none arrived at our table. Finally 30 minutes after ordering (while watching tables who arrived after us get appetizers AND entrees), our entrees arrived. We were completely underwhelmed. In the menu’s description of my husband’s dish, it mentions red chili flakes. The flakes were nowhere to be found and he said that his dish was bland. In his words, “it tastes like a Lean Cuisine.” While the eggplant balls were tasty, the rosemary potatoes left much to be desired. They had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp waiting for the rest of the food to be prepared. They were room temperature and oily. In addition, there was a total of 5 small Yukon potatoes on the plate so we were very disappointed with the portion size. Lastly, the rosemary potatoes are listed as $9 on the menu. They were $10 on our check. This dinner and service experience may have us looking for other Italian options in the Howard County area. Our experience at Galliano's tonight was outstanding. The service and food was hot and delicious.Kat, one of the awesome managers, came by and made sure everything was superb! Everything was delicious. Even the bread and oil. Caprese appetizer was good. I had the seafood risotto, which had several large shrimp and crabmeat with hint of lemon. The asparagus in the risotto was excellent. My friend got the giant meatball and spaghetti and MAN was it a big meatball. Super cool. I had the pleasure of dining at Galliano, Maple Lawn. The Restaurant owners and staff go the extra mile to delight clients. It was my first time and I enjoyed it so much, I returned the following week with my friend who has strong food preferences. She loved it, and can't wait to return. The servers are mature, experienced and have class and etiquette which gives the restaurant an elevated level of quality.
