Collioure or St Tropez it is not and will probably never be but it has it's own distinctive sub tropical climate and unique Mediterranean charm. Once the poor relation of Marbella in terms of dining out, Fuengirola is fast gaining a reputation for innovative, avant-garde cooking and is becoming a centre where good food outlets are becoming the rule rather than the exception. Located on a tranquil street in the centre of town this is a lovely little restaurant serving delicious food at reasonable prices in a non touristy environment. Good lunch choices every day, the fish dishes in particular are scrumptious. Waiters are friendly and helpful and the ambience is very Iberian. A far cry from the many outlets on the promenade with their menu photographs of fried eggs, sausages and beans!
There is plenty of restaurants all around. The same sort of food everywhere they could have a common menu cart instead of individual. But this bistro is different. You find small but excellent choice of dishes coquille San Jacques i.e.. Recommended.
Great small place to lunch that is close to the beach but not too expensive or touristy. the food was very delicious (especially the paella) and the tinto de verano (kept) was extremely refreshing. waiter didn't speak much English, which is a good sign, but there was no complaining with the service. will be coming back again
