Contribuiți la feedbackWe were looking for a nice country pub not too far away, and The New Anchor Inn (dog friendly) in Friskney looked very pleasant, and well worth a visit. We went for the Sunday roast, and it was a truly wonderful. Good enough choice of beers lagers, including some local Bateman's. Nice and clean inside, not too quiet or too busy, so along with the very pleasant and friendly staff, made for a very welcoming experience. There was a choice of 3 meats, we both opted for roast beef, and it was cooked perfectly, melt in the mouth, not tough or chewy, served with large Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, and a nice selection of side vegetables, including cauliflower cheese. I followed this with the Crunchie cheesecake, which is literally as it sounds, and a very nice light desert to finish with, although fruit cocktail chocolate sponge was also on offer on this day. Quantity wise, it's plentiful, and very good value considering food costs these days. Their weekly menu looked equally appetising, including a wide choice to suit most tastes, anything from pulled pork cheese starters to a traditional large mixed grill. Friskney is only about a 15 minute drive out of Skegness, and makes for a nice change of scenery, with it's country village setting, surrounded by farmland. We'll certainly be returning when we next get the chance, to try some of the midweek menu, but until then, I'm sure we'll find time for another of their lovely Sunday roasts.
