My husband ordered the traditional green beer for the occasion, and we decided to share the fried pickles. Honestly, these might be the best fried pickles I've ever tasted, which is quite a compliment! They were perfectly crispy and served hot, making them a delightful treat that we really enjoyed. I ordered the mushroom risotto, which was creamy and absolutely delicious. Our daughter chose the chocolate cake for dessert, and it was such a huge slice that it could have easily fed five people! We will definitely be coming back to try more dishes!
We found ourselves in the area one Sunday and decided to stop here for lunch. It's surprising how many new places have opened since we lived in Little Elm. We chose this restaurant because it caught our attention. We ordered some beer, calamari, and chicken wings. They were decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, I was impressed by their excellent wine selection. I wasn’t in the mood for wine that day, but if I lived nearby, I would definitely come back to try some. Next time I'm in the area, I plan to stop by and explore their wines.
Feeling frustrated, we decided to leave. My husband informed the cashier that he would only pay for his Diet Coke since we were leaving, and nobody had come to take our food order. The cashier, Athena, disappeared for about five minutes before returning to ring him up for just over three dollars for the Coke, which he had barely touched after only taking two sips. At no point did anyone apologize for the poor service we encountered. We ultimately decided not to stay, and I regret that we didn’t get to try the food. Based on our experience with the service, we certainly won't be returning.
I had high expectations for Uncork'd. The atmosphere is pleasant and casual, and there was great live music on Friday night. Unfortunately, that's about where my praise ends. First of all, our server seemed disinterested and not very helpful. I also clearly requested that my burger be cooked medium, but it arrived overcooked—one of the driest and most flavorless burgers I've ever had. To top it off, I ordered two drinks—a classic Old Fashioned and a Texas Mule—and both were disappointingly watered down. I didn’t raise any of these issues with the manager, as that's not really my approach, but I wish I had given them a chance to correct things. Overall, I don’t plan on returning to Uncork'd anytime soon.
The food was quite enjoyable, but the service was noticeably slow. The starters, particularly the fried pickles and spinach dip, were excellent and made for a great beginning to the meal. The rest of the dishes ranged from okay to good.
