Il Calcio - Fresnay-sur-Sarthe

This small restaurant in Fresnay-sur-Sarthe has enjoyed very well. excellent food and service! our server had difficulty with English for a few things (between his English and French we were able to communicate to most things) so he went and got a member of the...kitchen staff to help. very nice people who made us feel at home. the beer was fresh, the wine was even better and my calzone was excellent. large portions with a lot of filling for 9.50 euro. good selection of menus. everyone loved what he had and it was a great little eating after a long day of the tour. we were in a position, sitting outside on table with plexi glass from the street paragliding. a great way to enjoy a meal on a sunny day. recommended if they are close.

We had not booked, and it was quite busy, but the staff tried to accommodate us. the pizzas were delicious fresh bases and plentiful toppings! it was great!

We had pizza which was just passable and a really dire salad. It contained limp greens and brown mushy avocado, and soggy mango. It was vile. There’s not a lot of choice in Fresnay on a Wednesday night and I would recommend going to Beaumont...sur Sarthe and dining at the Logis.

Really great restaurant the food is really tasty I can recommend the calzone and the creme brûlée. We had a fantastic meal and the staff were lovely. All dishes were reasonably priced.

You can enjoy here as a stay in a hotel close by. it was not overly busy when we arrived at 19 o'clock, we were greeted on Friday and asked if we would like to sit inside or outside. after that we stayed in old before any orders were taken food or drinks. it was very slow to arrive and no one has seen whether we wanted to drink more later or whisper. other diners also stayed waiting or overlooked. some people left because they had waited for 20 minutes without having been ordered. we noticed eating a past in the kitchen that served luke. a group of brides was turned away, only for the next arrivals to get a table. even if no one was gone. I guess it was a Friday and we noticed only another restaurant open. there were 3 people waiting for tables and we noticed 3 cooks and one person at the little bar. 8 tables were occupied. eating was okay and it was nice to sit outside, but I wouldn't go back. if the service is not great, he pampered the meal, and unfortunately it was not polite, friendly or efficient at this opportunity.
