Contribuiți la feedbackI had a fantastic Reuben sandwich, along with some ginger chews, Cacao Selection Smooth, and marinated red cabbage with apple. Everything was delicious. Thank you!
I first visited this restaurant in 1988 when I was working at an architecture firm nearby. It was fantastic back then, and it remains just as wonderful today. I wish I lived closer! Thank you, Rita!
The food was absolutely delicious, and the owner was incredibly friendly, offering great suggestions on how to order the sandwiches. It may seem unusual, but her advice was spot on. My friend and I shared a Reuben and a German brat bun, and both were among the best sandwiches I've ever tasted. Be prepared to spend at least $10 per sandwich, but trust me, it's worth every penny.
When it comes to sandwiches, I recommend trying the Reuben on dark rye (note that you can only choose your bread with a full sandwich; otherwise, it defaults to whatever she has ready for half sandwiches) or the currywurst served with a bread roll, cheese, and butter. For beer, the selection is limited but decent. If you enjoy a full-bodied beer with earthy notes, try the Korbinian doppelbock.
This is a lovely little spot that has a cozy, homey atmosphere. While they no longer serve pork chops, the sausage sandwich paired with German potato salad was fantastic. They have a nice selection of beers in the fridge, which is a plus. We also picked up some raw sausages and great bread to enjoy at home. Plus, there’s a great variety of games available to play while you relax with your food and drinks.
