Small, cozy pub in the heart of the old town. have eaten well, sausage salad, carving. every freeburger feels comfortable, sure even visitors when they find a place. also ideal for evening beer.

A nice restaurant with German food. The service was nice, friendly but not very personal. The food was good but not outstanding. The prices were ok. Within the restaurant it was very busy and loud. We reserved a table, because we were a party of six. I would recommend to reserve anyway.

Went here for dinner. The soup was average, but the schweineschnitzel and cordon blue we had for main course were excellent. Sat outside in the alley, but the wooden chairs were not that comfortable.

We loved this place for lunch. Directly across from the famous Scwabentorl, one of the two remaining medieval towers. Excellent local food. Loved the pancake soup and pork tenderloin with a slightly creamy sauce and spaetzle. Great local beer and very reasonable local wine. Really nice staff who explained a lot about the restaurant and its history, going back 600 years, and which survived intact despite the WW II bombing destruction. They also have a menu in English which details nicely the food choices along with their history/history of the area. Worth keeping the menu to read after your order. This is a small place and is heavily booked. We tried weeks before to get a dinner reservation, but could not, especially during Wienachtmarkt season, which this is, so we were very happy when our concierge secured us a luncheon reservation. Our best meal in Freiburg. As getting local as it gets. Highly recommend!

Beautiful location, warm staff and delicious bathroom kitchen with picked food name. For example, I ate the "Bächleputzer". And when you get out, you'll see the name maker in full beauty. In every way highly recommended!
