Omas Kuche - Freiburg im Breisgau

It wasn't really warm, but it tasted very much.

I think it's a joke! the already paid order was suddenly “dealed” after 1.25h waiting time. first were given 30min, then 80 and more, but instead of eating came per inapp message the cancellation. I can still order in another restaurant. :( :(

Visited Omas whilst on a day visit to Freiburg. We wanted somewhere that had a gluten free option. The restaurant is about a 15 minute walk from the centre of town and has a great local feel. We were welcomed and given English menus. Our server was really helpful and took our order with no problem. The gluten free section was in german but was helpfully translated. We sat outside with lots of other families. All very pleasant. The food arrived freshly prepared and was well presented. All our meals were delicious and we left empty plates. All in all a good stop for a family friendly meal especially if anyone has food intolerance.

The restaurants sits on the side of a beautiful hill side park, at the edge of a very cosy neighbourhood of Freiburg.The place is clean, well-kept, and the staff is really friendly and helpful, albeit busy!The main room is wide, with curvy high ceilings, and the secondary dinning room is also quite nice, with more wood.The food served at Omas Küche is tasty, rich and generous, with fresh vegetables and salads lightning the richer, heavier more traditionnal elements and ingredients.We tasted poultry liver, pork, meat-balls, mushrooms, potato potage, mushroom soup, etc.: literally everything was nicely prepared and generously served.Sunday brunch has also been quite nice: nothing was missing.The beer selection is good. Nothing crazy, but nothing bad whatsoever. We haven't tried any wine. Let's hope Omas relies on the glorious local production!Going there twice in 2 days has been a pleasure. The crowd eating there was obviously as kind and civilized as the staff. Definately worth a visit!Omas Küche is just as good for couples as for families with (young) kids!!

Oma's Kuche is a regular calling point for us on visits to Freiburg and over the years it has never let us down.Serving a largely regional menu, schnitzel, steak and wurstsalat are always there alongside seasonal dishes such a Spargle and daily specials. The food is tasty, not fancy but competently produced and comes in generous portion sizes. The setting is informal, staff friendly and efficient and prices are reasonable. It's tucked out of the way, and not really on the way anywhere. However if you are looking for a pleasant night out its well worth seeking out.
