Athena's Cantina - Freeport

The owner of the restaurant was incredibly rude and unfriendly. It was on Tuesday on November 28. My husband and I waited over half an hour for our drinks when people who came after us got cocktails and food. And she never apologized or smiled at us. She clearly ignored us. We won't be returning to this place for sure.

I was staying at the hotel across the street. I was not expecting more than a Maine taco (which is crazy incomprehensible) but... I had the best So-Cal carne asada in Maine. Wow. Not only was the food great but I made so many friends at the cantina that can't believe it. What wonderful people! Great times, great place, great people. I will be back. Viva la Freeport!

Nice, friendly staff. I ordered the burrito bowl. It was great. They are short staffed so it took a while (to be expected).Parking: Parked in front of restaurant.

We unfortunately didn’t get to try the food as we left before we were served because the staff was so rude. The woman inside who worked there didn’t greet us or acknowledge us in any way so we stood there for a couple minutes before she said “yes?”We told her we would like to place a to go order and she said they weren’t doing to gos that night before turning her back on us. Not even asking if we wanted to sit down or anything. We were really excited to try this place because it had great reviews but this place gives off very unfriendly vibes. Definitely won’t be back.
