Contribuiți la feedbackI had the mushroom pasta, and while my friend really enjoyed it, I found the cheese to be a bit stronger than I anticipated, though I still liked it. The portion size was generous, and the garlic bread was enjoyable. Overall, it was good value for the menu. For dessert, we had the mud cake, which was excellent. We also ordered jumping goat shots for 8 NZD each as an aperitif, which I thought was a great deal. We chose to sit outside, and the atmosphere was lively with an interesting crowd.
We spent two nights in Franz Josef and sampled several restaurants, but the standout by far was Monsoon! The food was delicious, not overly salty like at some other places, and the prices were very reasonable. The guy at the counter who took our order was incredibly friendly! He even put our wine in the freezer to keep it cold after we paid for it—hahaha! Thanks, man!
Although we didn't have the chance to eat here, the menu looked appealing and the food that we saw being served looked incredible. We stopped in for drinks and fell in love with the atmosphere and the overall vibe. This is definitely the place to be for a night out in Franz Josef, with great music, a pool table, and a nice selection of drinks. The roaring fire adds to the cozy ski lodge ambiance. It was such a warm and inviting spot!
Food was great! Be sure to get the ribeye and seafood chowder they are the best I’ve had!
Superrrrrrr Great experience! Super nice night enjoyed. Have to say Monsoon is the best restaurant of my first trip in NZ. Wine and food matches so great. All the people there are very nice! Trust their suggestions! It won’t let you down.
