The Wholesome Nest - Frankston East

Those of you with kids will get that it's important to find a cafe that is accommodating so you can actually enjoy your time there right?!Well The Wholesome Nest is that! Now that the cafe has taken over the entire shop space (used to share with retail) there is loads of room and a nice, cruisy, somewhat Boho feel. With a range of kids toys, a kids table and a blackboard to keep the little ones entertained, it means you can enjoy your coffee and yummy raw treats without scoffing them down and high-tailing it out of there. And the raw treats really are worth enjoying! The tables out the front are cute, but probably not ideal to sit on Nepean Hwy if you plan to relax, but the garden down to alleyway that catches the sun is a far better option. Artwork hanging on the walls is for sale which is always a nice touch, and the service is always relaxed and friendly. Located super close to Carrum, this little gem is worth popping into.

The Wholesome Nest is a kid friendly venue and is super convenient for friends and I to visit after exercising at the nearby surf club. However, after visiting multiple times (5+ at least) both before and after the changes from shop and cafe to cafe only we have yet to visit when something hasn't been forgotten from one of our orders. We've reached the point where it's a joke to what will be forgotten. Coffee is ok, but the raw treats are pretty good for the cost and often change. If you're in a hurry or don't like kids this is not the venue for you. There are toys and a big blackboard for kids to play with and plenty of 'running' space amongst the couches.

Quaint is probably a good word. The site is a retail shop, a cafe and a set of studios of alternative health providers. The cafe is behind the shop, down a lane. The music playing was West Coast USA from the late 1970s and there were quite a few children playing and writing on the blackboard inside. There was outside tables as well. I just had coffee, but the foccacie looked good. The Genovese coffee was too bitter to my taste and the tables were slow to be cleared.

I have coffee, breakfast and lunch here regularly. Never disappointed. Great ambience. Lovely food. Outdoor area and dog friendly. Next to beach. Perfect!

This little hidden restaurant has to be one of the best places I have came across. The food is of a high standard as well as their organic coffees. The staffs attention to detail and their warm friendly service puts the icing on the cake.. I would recommend this place to everybody, vegetarian or not ..
