Contribuiți la feedbackIt's okay....Nothing bad to say, but it wasn't worth the money to me...I really prefer the average Chinese spot food for under $20. This was pricey and just okay.....perhaps my expectations were too high. I did pick up, so not sure about the service here
I can't understand why this place has such great ratings. I love soup dumplings and these were some of the worst. The dumplings were very thick and doughy and there was hardly any soup. The fried rice was good and the green beans were excellent. The cumin chicken was dry. The problem was the service. At one point we waited 42 minutes (I timed it) without seeing the server. The excuse was new ownership and learning new procedures. We were there for 2 and a half hours with only one course. As I was leaving I said to the couple coming in that they should leave now. I explained about the new management and the guy laughed. He said the service is always slow and they use that excuse all the time. They turned and left after telling us that they usually get takeout and the tell them they're picking up a half hour before they actually go.
Ordered a bunch of stuff for pickup to try: Lo mein, general Tso chicken, wonton soup and the pork fried rice. Everything was SO delicious and fresh. The portions were also very sizable. The staff was so friendly and the food was ready so quickly. The restaurant itself is quite massive and clean. This is a great Chinese restaurant. I'll definitely be back!
First time at Cheng Du, happened to be in the area. There was a large party going on but they accommodated my party of 2. Menu is extensive and seems to be adding dishes as some were written in. It seems to me the restaurant is a little more geared toward authentic Chinese, similar to some of the Chinatown restaurants, which I loved. Food was great, server was very nice. She practically was serving the party and us by herself. Would definitely recommend
Besides our party, there were only 2 other customers during the 3 hours we were there Sunday between 6 and 9. Which should be prime time. This, combined with the very large dining hall made the place have a sad lonely vibe. Margarita was very well made and adequately strong. Dumplings were great. Lobster was expensive and not so good. Tip was included in the bill even though there were only 4 of us in our party. May have been done to confuse us and get us to double tip which we almost did.
