Contribuiți la feedbackIt’s pity I still have to give a star to leave the comment. The worst cafe experience ever. The quality of coffee is unbelievably terrible I can taste the machine has never been properly cleaned and the beans are wrongly treated and kept. I couldn’t swallow a sip of it so I had to order a cake. It did’t seem like it would ever be served and meantime the “coffee” got even cold. All the other tables after my order were already served it’s obvious that my cake was forgotten so I had to remind the waiter my order. He came and said, “oh I am sorry that we don’t know to be fast.” The tone and the attitude were so arrogant and unnecessarily rude. Really disgusting and immature little boy was complaining about what he can do when he works alone and there are other tables. So I guess he doesn’t even get the point. Please don’t waste your money, time and energy here when there are many other options around.
They normally have at least one vegan cake, when I visited they had a carrot cake in the display and a chocolate one in the oven, which would be only available on the next day, the friendly lady told me. The carrot cake contained loads of almond chunks and had a super creamy and rich coconut milk-y icing on top which I loved so much. There were no signs with prices on the wall and I didn't look into the menu, but I paid 6,50 € for a coffee with oat milk and a slice of cake, which is pretty fair. They had sandwiches and a special lunch of the day, too, but didn't check if these were vegan or veganizable. Note that this place is cash only! Updated from previous review on 2023-02-14
I only had two teas here, but the dishes on the other tables looked and smelled delicious. I was a bit disappointed with the concept, as I expected it to offer opportunities to read and relax which were missing. They only had wooden tables and wooden chairs, no other, more comfortable, options to sit back and enjoy a book. They had an open bookshelf where you could borrow or spend a book. So, overall a good café, but not really special and the Lese in the name, comes to short for me.
Books, coffee, newpapers, food, cakes all that you could wish for and a great quiet oasis in Sachsenhausen
Always a good spot for breakfast
