Fra Rewe City - Frankfurt

Rewe is a German supermarket chain that has a store in almost every city. This one is not big, but it has a good section of vegan food that you can take away (for a German supermarket anyway). There is a salad bar that, at least when we visited, offers two kinds of mock meat that are clearly marked. There are quite a lot of other vegan options, although they are not marked, but they can be easily identified: Couscous, chick pea salad, white beans salad, green beans salad, artichoke salad, tomato salad, carrot salad and more. You can buy a set of durable cutlery in a box or receive wooden cutlery for free when you pay. Apart from the salad bar, there are three vegan wraps and several kinds of vegan sushi. The wraps are all mock meat (sweet chili chicken, pesto chicken and bacon egg) and they were not the best ever, but tasted ok. We did not try the sushi. Like most German supermarkets nowadays (at least in the cities), this one also offers basic vegan products such as plant milk, plant yoghurt, vegan chocolate, spreads etc., although given the small size of the shop the choice is not large. All in all, if you are looking for vegan food to take away in this area of the airport/train station, this is a good place to come. Rewe is a supermarket chain, not a restaurant. This branch is small for a supermarket, though I suppose it is handy for those heading home. Judged as a restaurant, however, it is subpar. The salad bar does not look enticing and the vegan items are not clearly marked (though the HC description says Has an ingredient book where you can check all the different components who is going to ask for such a book in a busy store? , They do have clearly marked vegan sushi, which I suppose will do for those eager to grab something as they run to catch a plane. Different salads with a reasonable price. The cutlery is eco-friendly which is great. There is also vegan sushi sold in the shop.
