Eliá Restaurant & Bar

Eliá Restaurant is a great little Greek restaurant located in a residential district south and west of the City Centre. As you walk into the restaurant it feels like a classy place. The decorum is Greek but not over the top or too stereotypical. The staff all speaks good English, and they have English menus. Our reservation was for 7pm and we were seated right away in a great table by the window. It was Easter Sunday, so we were given the regular menu and the special Easter menu. They have an assortment of gin drinks, but we went basic with just gin and tonic. It arrived in a super-sized glass with a nice garnish. Perfect, simple, and delicious. We ordered the appetizer sampler (listed as METRO) and WOW, it came out on a plate that was as long as the table! What a presentation. It had a sampling of ALL the appetizers on the menu. It was a great way to test out a little of everything. It was great but be careful, it is a lot of food! The lamb meals were the winners of the four. My meal, Pulled Arni was a special. It lacked flavor and was a strange purple color. I would not get it again. Overall, the experience was very nice. The service was perfect but for me the food (that I sampled) was not as good as I have had at other Greek restaurants. It is for that reason that I unfortunately must give this restaurant 4 stars. I would return to try the lamb.

Hosted a group of 8 for a business dinner. Reservation was accepted and we sat on the patio where there were a few bees hovering around. Waitress was Anna and she was very good in a culture where service does not excel like in the USA. She did upsell which other reviews noted but also pulled me aside and explained the pricing. We went with family style for 8 with an appetizer platter and a huge meat/fish platter as an main meal. It could have fed 12 or 14 people. Came out to be $100E pp with a 15% top and plenty of cocktails. One of the better restaurant experiences we had during a week of business in Mainz and Frankfurt.

Excellent! The food is authentic with beautiful presentation. The lady who assisted us with the food and wine selection was very kind and polite. The atmosphere is greek with modern touches. The quality and taste of the food were top notch. We highly recommend this restaurant

Eating, eating and service were very good. the environment was to feel comfortable. the selection was diverse and excellent. the daily dishes of the appetizers and main dishes wonderful.
