La Bonita Tamales

Tamales increíbles!!! Auténtico y delicioso. ¡No puedo recomendar lo suficiente! El chicharrón y el queso eran mis favoritos, pero el pollo también estaba increíble. También el más barato que puedes encontrar en la avenida principal de Tulum. ¡Lo mejor que he probado!

As a general rule, when I see a BBQ on the street and something wrapped in a banana leaf cooking I must investigate. My experience here was late afternoon and entirely random. I wasn’t even hungry yet but how do you drive past this without trying? I’m so glad I did. Tamales on a BBQ? Wow! First time to see this and what a mouthwatering surprise it was. This thing was amazing. Picks up some smokey flavours from the grill, homemade from scratch with a shredded chicken filling and topped with a nice mild salsa (almost like an Italian marinara sauce). Low key spot. Local food. Tony and the kids were so so nice. You must try this and you’ll be truly and directly supporting a local family business.
