Old Bay Steamer - Fort Walton Beach

The food was decent, but it was extremely overpriced. We ordered steak, lobster, and king crab legs, and the bill came to $200! Why is it so expensive? The food isn't that great! The service was average, and the mixed drinks barely had any alcohol in them. I will never return to this place. Save your time and money—avoid Old Bay Steamer!

I was expecting to rate this place 4 to 5 stars, but I can only give it 3. There wasn't anything truly bad, but nothing stood out as exceptional during this visit. The food was steamed adequately, but a heads-up: the shrimp come whole and uncleaned, so be prepared to do some work on that. We ordered a steamer for two and a scallops entrée, which cost over $250 including tip, without any drinks. The portion sizes were decent, but the food itself was merely average. The service was satisfactory, but overall, it felt overpriced given the quality of the food and service on this occasion.

Absolutely fantastic! We were a group of five adults and two children, and we started off with the smoked tuna and crab cakes as appetizers. The kids enjoyed their meals, which included fresh shrimp, a cluster of crab legs, corn on the cob, and applesauce. Three of the adults indulged in cocktails. We ordered the family steamer, which was just perfect for our group of five. The kids had some, and we even had a couple of shrimp left over. The total came to just over $300, which felt like a great deal for everything we enjoyed! We live in the area and decided to give this restaurant another chance after a not-so-great experience a couple of years back. I’m so glad we did! Everything was really delicious!

I ordered the little steamer, my wife ordered the New York strip steak, both dishes were cooked to perfection, we travel often I will say this is the best steamed seafood dish I have ever eaten, the oysters, Royal Reds, and muscles were excellent, the crab legs were delicious also. My wife’s steak ate like a ribeye, it was very tender, you can tell they are using quality beef just by the chewing experience of the steak and flavor. We had two cocktails, Both were excellent also. Our server was very attentive and took great care of us. We will be eating at Old Bay Steamers every trip back to Ft. Walton.

Wonderful restaurant. Shabby chic vibes. Excellent food. I had the King Crab Dinner. My wife had a combo. Everything was very well prepared. All dinners come with a salad for the table. They only have one dressing and it's fantastic! The portions are large you won't leave hungry. I would definitely return.
