We didn't expect to find good Mexican food in Waikiki, and were pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, we only found it in our last night in Honolulu, but had we found it earlier, we would have eaten there every evening. The portions were large, and the prices the most reasonable that anywhere we found in Waikiki. We had as salad and tacos, both with Carne Asada, and both were amazing. The salsas were also excellent. It closes early, so get there early. It was also closed on Wednesdays. There are common tables that you can eat at, it was pouring rain so we just took it back to our hotel.
Delectable Mexican food in a little courtyard? Yes please. It's surprisingly hard to find great Mexican grindz around here. THIS is the
Nice little somewhat hidden spot. It's a window/takeout with a few tables nearby. Only tried a couple of things, but they were pretty good and the portions were nice and generous. Three tacos for ten bucks on Tuesdays is a pretty good deal. I'll be back.
Small hidden Mexican snack bar with a limited menu (a positive thing in my opinion, as they are particularly good at it). I had Tijuana Nachos and was not disappointed with the taste, quantity and overall appearance. Service was quick and friendly. Price-performance was okay.
Ok, the odd stuff first. Atmosphere the seating is all outdoors, under trees and surrounded by multi level gardens and koi ponds with some huge koi. Now, the food! Oh My Fricking Pink Unicorn! The birra tacos are fabulous freshly toasted shells surround the most succulent beef you could ever hope to get your mouth on. The onions, cilantro salsa on top would complete the feast, but no, a dipping sauce is included to dip the tacos in! It's so thick it could double as a soup or stew! Both green and red salsa are fresh, tasty and wellworth dipping the fresh nachos in.Mario! You outdo yourself everyday! Mahalo
