Butters Breakfast Lunch - Fort Collins

Everyone of the staff members is amazing. We usually have Emily and she is by far my favorite! The food here is amazing as well; I usually get the streusel French toast and it is the best. Overall my absolute favorite breakfast place and it is fairly inexpensive for the amount of food you get!!

I ordered the chicken fried steak. The gravy tasted good and the steak was fine but the breading and sausage bits were way too chewy. The sourdough toast was just bread from a toaster, can’t go wrong with that. But the eggs and hashbrowns were sad. The hashbrowns were limp and cold with no integrity. I ordered scrambled eggs, and sure they whisked the whites and yolks together, but clearly just threw it in the pan then folded it a few times with no technique. If you’re gonna be a mid-budget breakfast joint, the least you could get right is the eggs and potatoes. I paid $23 in total (including tip) for this. I honestly would want my money back for that soul-shatteringly mediocre breakfast, but the redeeming quality was the service. I walked in and was immediately greeted, he got me my water, my drink, and my order came out super fast. The whole time he was super nice and even gave me a free cup of apple juice. I tipped HIM 20%, not the restaurant. Probably won’t go again unfortunately. Maybe their sugary breakfast items will serve you better, I recommend not getting the chicken fried steak.

The only downside to the meal was the hashbrowns; they weren't crispy and were a bit undercooked in some spots. They still had a bit of a bite to them, so we ended up skipping them. The beans were average, and they only offered grape jelly for the toast. On the bright side, they had a great selection of hot sauces, including Tapatio, which is hard to find in Colorado where Tabasco or Cholula dominate. We absolutely love Tapatio, so thank you, Butters, for having that option! A big shout-out to our server, Dahlia—she was fantastic! Sweet, attentive, and quick, and I really appreciated her speaking Spanish with us, which made our experience that much more enjoyable. The atmosphere was typical—maybe a little loud—with some nostalgic 90s and early 2000s music playing in the background. The coffee was hot and strong. We will definitely return for breakfast!

The food was quite elaborate, perhaps even a bit overly so. I attended a birthday party there, which was enjoyable. The Mimosas were excellent, but the place was incredibly busy and very pricey. If you enjoy decadent and intricate dishes, you would definitely appreciate this restaurant.
