Los Gallitos - Fort Bragg

As a vegetarian, I didn't have high expectations, but to my surprise, they offered some great veggie options! The fiesta veggie salad, which I noticed on their website but wasn't on the menu, was prepared for me without any hesitation. My friend ordered a shrimp combo, though I can’t recall the exact name, and he loved his meal as well. The cocktails were quite strong, which was a pleasant surprise—no complaints there! The atmosphere really added to the overall experience. The only downside for me as a vegetarian was that the smell of meat was a bit overpowering. Despite that, I would definitely come back to this place!

When I tried the chips here, I cautiously dipped one into the salsa, hoping I wouldn’t regret it. To my surprise, it was pleasantly mild, and the chips were delicious. I went for a full dip, and my expression was one of pure shock at how perfect it was! Fresh, flavorful, and with a great texture—there was no need for excessive spice to mask a lack of flavor. I can confidently say I’ve never had salsa this perfect! (I’m not a fan of extremely spicy food, so if you are, you may feel differently, but I loved it!) Next came the guacamole, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. My face lit up with awe after that first bite! It had the perfect combination of flavor and spice, with fresh avocado and diced tomatoes. All I wanted to do was grab more chips to scoop up the guac and salsa! The chips were thicker and wonderfully crispy, and they might even make them in-house. They were excellent! Then the water arrived, and after a hesitant sip, I smiled again. It was simply delightful—no unpleasant taste, just refreshing and enjoyable, with a low mineral content that made it easy to drink. The restaurant had a fantastic authentic atmosphere, a quick kitchen, and very friendly staff. The music was at a pleasant volume, and despite it being a Tuesday night, the place was buzzing with happy patrons. Oh, and the food was outstanding too! (Just a little extra tip for you!)

I thought my trip from Willits to the Skunk Train was a waste, but I'm glad I made the journey just to visit this restaurant. It was a pleasant surprise! The nachos were the best I've ever had. It's a charming little Mexican restaurant that's definitely worth a stop. The prices are great, and the food is delicious!

The best menu item I've ever had! But it didn't have a homage, but we were okay with this lol. Colorful and fun atmosphere. Service was a little slow, but it was very busy, so we understood. Vampira also drank from the hook.

Oh. My. Goodness. This place is amazing! My hubby and I stopped in on our way from the glass beach to Sacramento and enjoyed the best Mexican food ever! Service was awesome and the food was DELICIOUS! If you don't get anything else, you have to try their tacos.
