The Lunch Table - Forney

Everyone is so friendly and the food is delicious. I was on my way home when I spotted the restaurant and decided to stop in for lunch. Upon entering I was instantly greeted and shown to a table. After looking over the menu and not knowing what to order I asked the waiter his opinion and he suggested I get the Effie hot. He did not steer me wrong! The poppyseed dressing that comes on the sandwich is so good and pairs well with the ham. The dill dip that pairs with the chips was an added bonus, a nice alternative to salsa. I was not a fan of the coleslaw but the chips and half a sandwich was filling enough.

This place is a hidden gem in Forney. I stopped in for the first time today and I really loved my meal. I had the grown up grilled cheese sandwich that I added some spiral cut ham to. It was really amazing. The bread really took it up a notch with toasted sesame seeds on the outer face. The crisps and dill dip were also great and the fruit cup was all fresh fruit. My neighbor had a different sandwich also with ham that he raved about. We also shared a dish of apricot almond goat cheese with crackers. If I have one critique it was that the goat cheese was too cold which made it hard to cut/spread. Otherwise it was amazing and not overpriced. Also this is obviously a Christian place if that makes a difference to you. I will definitely be back to try some of their other meals.

I went and tried this local place this week and had the chicken club wrap with a pesto mayonnaise. The wrap was toasted which is a plus. It came with a side of fresh fruit which is always good and I had their chicken and vegetable soup. The soup could have used a touch more seasoning, but was still good. It was easy to order and go pick it up. I will be back to try other options.

Very cute and cozy space. Very friendly people and great food. It is clean and inviting.

We had a baby shower today, everything was done to perfection. Food was amazing, staff were always available. They will be recommended by me again and we will frequent the cafe for lunches. Thank you!
