Yum Yum Peking Duck - Forest Lake

This place is a little hidden jem in Darra. It is nice and close to the train station and has parking immediately outside or on the streets nearby. Don't be fooled by its unassuming exterior, it's warm and cosy inside and staff are friendly.Do yourself a favour - try the Peking Duck. It comes in two or three courses. We had the two course which is the duck pancakes and san choy bau. Even though some of the pancakes were more duck skin than meat, you didn't mind as there was plenty to go around and it was so tasty! The san choy bau was fresh and a nice way to finish the dish.We pigged out and split some other dishes:- salt and pepper squid which was crisp and tasty, a definite winner!- spring rolls (they combined some chilli and soy sauces together for us to make the perfect dipping sauce).- green beans with garlic which was our dish of the night, such a great cleansing dish with heaps of garlic!!- deep fried ice cream, done beautifully.Service is quick without being rushed and the meals aren't heavy. Even though we over-ate (couldn't help ourselves), we didn't feel sickly as you can with heavy food.Prices were very affordable and the restaurant is BYO. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We ate at this restaurant recently. We've been on several occasions and always have the Peking Duck. As usual it's always good. The service is good, the ambiance "hole-in-the-wall" Asian restaurant but it's clean and pleasant. You have to order the Peking Duck in advance, we had two for five people which was plenty. Sometimes they cook duck in advance and you can order more if necessary but check first. We paid about $28 a head.It's BYO and no bottle shops close by so stock up.The restaurant is just across the road from the railway station.The Asian supermarket and butchers nearby are worth a look at too, Bring some shopping bags and maybe an esky.The toilets down the back are a little dingy but "serviceable"

Staff is very friendly. Very busy restaurents at times. very hygenically prepared food. I have seen the kitchen. I like their Roast Pork and BBQ Pork and also sea food fried rice. nothing to complain about. But on thursday and weekend nights parking is a problem in this area.

No frills, almost dodgy facade but the food is mostly good!! The Peking duck was decent with generous helpings! The duck skin was crispy and delicious but I would have liked a little more cucumber and scallion!Definitely worth a visit for decently priced Peking duck.

We have been going here for years.Best Peking duck-many restaurants come here to buy their roast pork and Peking duck.BYO makes it a cheap meal.Service ok, value exceptional.
